Water is believed to be the purifier of all things in Chinese culture, and it represents prosperity, abundance, and renewal. In celebration of the upcoming festivities, Sofitel has specially created a sumptuous Lunar New Year menu that embodies all the auspicious elements of the Water Tiger.
After his most recent stint in New Zealand, Chef Mok has decided to return to his culinary roots in the country by paving the way for new gastronomic experiences at Sofitel.
Chef Mok has been instrumental in introducing signature dishes that are a testament to the best Asian flavors, with a touch of French-Asian fusion cuisine.
Kicking off his much-awaited return, he will be serving his take on Chinese New Year favorites like Wok Fried King Prawn with Salted Egg Yolk and Crispy Curry Leaf; CNY Traditional Treasure Pot (Tiger Prawn, Abalone, Sea Cucumber, Mushroom, and Sea Moss); Sesame Tiger Prawn Roll Salted Egg Yolk and XO Sauce; and Braised Whole Abalone with Winter Melon.
The Sesame Tiger Prawn Roll Salted Egg Yolk and XO Sauce is an ode to the Chinese New Year’s theme – The Year of the Water Tiger, while the Chinese New Year Traditional Treasure Pot celebrates the reunion of family members who come together during this joyous season.
Lauriat, Tinghun, and Chinese weddings have a longstanding tradition of including culinary delights in their special events. Soon, Chef Mok will also showcase his signature dishes for these much-anticipated Lauriat events.
